Someone Who Can't Sit Still

I'm Sebastien Robillard — Seb. By day I'm VP Sales at Entourage X. The rest of the time, I'm probably trying to find somewhere new to go, something new to eat, or a trail I haven't done yet.

This site exists because of a friend, not because of some grand plan. Back in 2011 she ran a blog, and I was already the guy people texted for restaurant, nightlife, and travel recommendations — so I started contributing to hers. When she moved and stopped writing, people kept asking me why I'd stopped blogging. I hadn't realized it had become mine too. So I started this one to keep it going.

I don't have a tidy theme tying everything together beyond this: I like trying new things, I like going new places, and I don't really like sitting still. Some weeks that means a hike, some weeks it's a new restaurant, some weeks it's gear I bought and actually used enough to have an opinion on. It's less a niche than a running log of "worth doing again" and "wouldn't bother."

I also have a dog, and so does my sister — you won't see them in the posts, this isn't about them. But being a dog owner means I know exactly how hard it can be to figure out where you can actually bring your dog, or what to do with them beyond the same three walks. That's the whole reason "With Your Dog" is its own section here.

For what it's worth: I haven't been to that many countries, maybe 20. But I have made it to 48 U.S. states, which tells you more about how I actually travel than a passport stamp count would.

None of this is really about me. I write it down so that if you're standing where I was standing — trying to decide where to hike, where to eat, or whether a piece of gear is worth it — you get something useful out of it before you go.
